Why you should Never Miss an Oil Change

There are different maintenance tasks that are very important if you want to keep your car in a good working condition. You should never at any given time assume and skip a car service. One of the most important services you should never miss is oil change.

Why is it important

Changing the engine oil depends on different aspects as specified by the manufacturer. In general terms, an interval of about 3,000 miles or 6 months is mostly recommended. As a good rule of the thumb, oil change should never exceed 5,000 miles extreme circumstances.

Changing oil regularly ensures a smooth running of the engine. Oil is responsible for lubricating the engine and its parts as well as stopping the engine from overheating. As the oil moves throughout the car, it picks up tiny particles and debris, with time build up, to make the oil ineffective in the role it plays.

When you miss an oil change, the debris build up and the contaminated oil causes various problems in your car. This is because the oil is not effective in carrying away excess heat from the engine and disposing it to various parts of the car.

If you are using a dirty oil, it means the engine is not effectively lubricated. A car that has a dirty engine is also a safety hazard, because if the engine overheats, any other part of the car will fail.
